The BFS Writing Retreat 2027

The BFS is now inviting expressions of interest for the 2027 writing retreat. The retreat will take place in the Queen at Chester hotel in Chester from Friday 26th February to Monday 1st March. The cost will be £350 per person for 3 nights bed and breakfast.

We will have use of a conference room throughout the weekend, for those who like to write with others, while there are desks in the bedroom for those who prefer to work alone. The hotel also has seating areas in various little nooks and crannies around the building, and plenty of seating in the bar area, if you prefer a middle ground. The Queen at Chester is across the road from Chester train station and there are many amenities in the area.

Payment can be made in one lump sum or three installments. There will be 16 spaces available, with 12 prioritised for newcomers and 4 prioritised for returners.

Once again, we are pleased to be able to offer a sponsored place at the retreat. The society will cover the cost of three nights’ bed and breakfast but the sponsored attendee will be responsible for their own travel and other meals while there. This is open to any member who would otherwise be unable to afford to attend. If there are more applications than spaces, names will be drawn from a hat.
