Introducing ‘Long Story Short’: the official podcast of the British Fantasy Society

Yes, we’re launching a podcast! Robin C.M. Duncan, who co-hosts alongside David Green, lets us in on the secret…

With so many genre casts in the world these days, one reasonably might ask “Do we need another fantasy podcast?” Well, I think we do. I think we need Long Story Short as a way to highlight the amazing work the BFS committee is doing on initiatives, facilities and events for the society’s members. Not only that, we are able to bring insight to all listeners into how some of the very best of today’s Fantasy, SF and Horror authors work, and what makes them tick (that might just be the Steampunk authors, actually).

We have several excellent episodes ‘in the can’ already, and more on the way. I’m sure my co-host David Green would agree that we’re very excited to share these highly enjoyable discussions with BFS members, and hopefully a wider podcast listenership. To whet folks’ appetites, we’ll have episodes featuring Anna Smith Spark, T.L. Huchu, and Justin Lee Anderson to name but three. Each podcast features in-depth chat with our guest on their writing past and present, with a sneak peek into the future here and there. We’ll also include snippets of BFS news, contributor recommendations, and sports. (There’s no sports, I made that up.)

Check out our trailer for more information, and watch out for our logo (below) wherever you get your podcasts.

Long Story Short launches on 2 April!
