Fantasycon Guest of Honour

Are you excited about Fantasycon? Here at BFS, we cannot wait to see you all there, and to spend the weekend with our lovely Guests of Honour. This week, we’re delighted to share with you that our second Guest of Honour is Priya Sharma!

Priya Sharma’s fiction has appeared in venues such as Interzone, Black Static, Nightmare, The Dark and Tor.com. 

“Fabulous Beasts” (Tor.com) was a Shirley Jackson Award finalist and won a British Fantasy Award for Short Fiction.

Priya is a Shirley Jackson Award and British Fantasy Award winner, and Locus Award finalist, for her short story collection “All the Fabulous Beasts” (Undertow Publications).

Her novella “Ormeshadow” (Tor.com) won a Shirley Jackson Award and a British Fantasy Award. It was a 2022 Grand Prix de l’Imaginaire finalist.

Her latest novella “Pomegranates” (PS Publishing) was a finalist for a Shirley Jackson Award, a British Fantasy Award, and won a World Fantasy Award.

Her work has been translated into Spanish, French, Italian, Czech, and Polish.

Many of you will recognise Priya as a regular Fantasycon attendee and one of the kindest and most welcoming people you could have the good fortune to meet. We couldn’t be happier to welcome her as our Guest.

Fantasycon will be at the Queen at Chester Hotel, Chester, from the 11th-13th October 2024. Join us there for a fun-filled weekend of panels, readings, workshops, the British Fantasy Awards, the BFS AGM, and of course, the eagerly anticipated karaoke!
