Chat with James Logan, Kit Whitfield & Peter McLean in Covent Garden

The BFS is proud to present an evening with authors from the Arcadia stable, right in the heart of London Town.

Join us in-store for an author signing and question-and-answer event at Waterstones Covent Garden with Arcadia authors James Logan (The Silverblood Promise), Peter McLean (Priest of Bones), and Kit Whitfield (In The Heart Of Hidden Things). I’ll be in conversation with the authors, with plenty of time for audience questions, too.

Arcadia is the SFFH side of Quercus Books, and home to authors including Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Kate Golden, Sarah Pinborough, Rachel Pollack, Alison Littlewood, and Charlene Harris. The works of James, Peter and Kit span the fantasy spectrum, so there’ll be plenty to talk about when we meet in September.

Get your tickets direct from the book store, here. They’re £7 for general admission, or £23 if you’d like a hardback copy of The Silverblood Promise included—and maybe get it signed by James, too!

Accessibility note: Unfortunately the store does not have disabled access to the events area as there are no lifts in the building, but staff are available to help those with mobility issues.

More about the authors

James Logan was born in the southeast of England where he grew up on a diet of Commodore 64 computer games, Fighting Fantasy gamebooks, and classic eighties cartoons, which left him with a love of all things fantastical. He lives in London and works in publishing. The Silverblood Promise (out now) is his first novel. Follow him on Twitter, BlueSky or Instagram.

Peter McLean was born near London in 1972, the son of a bank manager and an English teacher. He grew up in the Norwich alternative scene, alternating dingy nightclubs with studying martial arts and practical magic. He has a black belt in Taoist Wu-Dang kung fu and practices Chaos magic. Follow him on BlueSky here.

Kit Whitfield is a graduate of Christ’s College, Cambridge and completed an MA in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. Her first novel, Bareback (published in the US as Benighted) was shortlisted for the Authors Club Best First Novel Award, and longlisted for the Waverton Good Read Award. Her second novel is In Great Waters. She lives in London. Follow her on Twitter, BlueSky or Instagram.

Lauren McMenemy wears many hats: Editor-in-Chief at Trembling With Fear for horrortree.com; PR and marketing for the British Fantasy Society; founder of the Society of Ink Slingers; curator of the Writing the Occult virtual events. With 25+ years as a professional writer across journalism, marketing, and communications, Lauren also works as a coach to writers looking to achieve goals, get accountability, or get support with their marketing efforts. You’ll find her around various events stepping up as a host, interviewer, moderator and general cheerleader. She writes gothic and folk horror stories for her own amusement, and is currently working on a novel set in the world of the Victorian occult. You’ll find Lauren haunting south London, where she lives with her Doctor Who-obsessed husband, the ghost of their aged black house rabbit, and the entity that lives in the walls.
