The British Fantasy Society’s outreach officer, Marvellous Michael Anson, has secured tickets to this month’s Black British Book Festival at the Barbican in London—and she’s giving them away to two lucky people!
Just head to this form and answer all the questions; we’ll pick a winner at random and be in touch via email. You don’t have to be a BFS member to enter this competition; it’s open to all members of the BAME/Global Majority Community.

Says Marve (pictured): “BBBF is Europe’s largest celebration of Black British Books, where thousands gather to share their love for books. This year, there will be panels, workshops, masterclasses, an ever-growing marketplace and an incredible line-up of guests.
“The BFS Outreach program is proud to announce that we will be at the festival this year, and we don’t want to go alone. So we’re sponsoring two tickets to the festival on October 19. Kindly fill out the form below, and we’ll pick someone at random. We can’t wait to see you there!”
The Black British Book Festival (BBBF) is more than just an event—it’s a movement dedicated to uplifting and celebrating Black British literature. Since its inception, BBBF has become a powerful platform for amplifying the voices and stories of Black British authors, creating spaces where diverse narratives can flourish, and nurturing a vibrant community committed to enhancing visibility and opportunities for Black British writers.
This time around, the BBBF features a host of workshops and panels, all centred on Black British creatives, including a panel on “fantasy, futures and the boundless Black imagination” with our own Marve, alongside Irenosen Okojie, Adam Oyebanji, and chair T.L. Huchu (all pictured below). Get more details about what else is on by heading here: blackbritishbookfestival.com/events
