What You’ll Find at Fantasycon

Panels & Discussions

Join our talks and engage with authors, editors and publishers as they share their love of the craft and offer advice and tips to writers new and old. We host Panels, Discussions, and Interviews as well as Workshops and Talks. Not to mention the British Fantasy Awards. And the all-important karaoke.

New Books to Read

Looking for your next adventure? We usually have a free bookbag, where wonderful publishers and authors have donated books for you to take home. In addition, there is a room full of Fabulous dealers who want to tempt you to buy their latest offerings.  You can meet wonderful authors and get your books signed.

Networking, Community & Belonging

Fantasycon is an opportunity to meet people involved in publishing, including authors, publishers, agents, reviewers, bloggers and more. It’s a great place to meet people with similar interests and make friends.

You can find out more by reading through our various blog posts about Fantasycon: https://britishfantasysociety.org/category/fantasycon/

Annual AGM

Don’t forget to make time to join us at our annual AGM. It’s a chance for all BFS members to meet face to face, and discuss ideas, plans and the future of the society with the Committee.

The AGM is held alongside Fantasycon (timing is event-specific), and is open to members and non-members attending Fantasycon, although only members may vote on motions. (Note: members of the BFS do not need Fantasycon tickets to attend the AGM.)

Further information on the AGM is included in the BFS Constitution.

Policies

Information on our policies (Access, Harassment, Privacy etc.) can be found on our Fantasycon Policies page.

Join the party!

BFS Members get a discount off ticket prices, so if you’re not a member of the BFS why not consider joining our society?

There are many benefits of doing so in addition to the discount for Fantasycon, such as a free entry into our short story and art competitions and our regular publications, the Journal and Horizons, delivered to your door or digitally, your choice.
